Join us on Thursday, June 11th at 6:30 for an original WWII production of "This Business of Fighting" Registration begins June 1st Early in 1942, a young man from Rhode Island, Tony Pritchard went into the U.S. Army. By the time he returned home more than five years later, he had been all over the United States and Western Europe, had led troops in combat, had nearly died, had worked with refugees, and in general had encountered a world far wider and far more brutal than anything he had known. Years later his son Arnie inherited Tony's old army foot locker. It turned out to contain hundreds of letters, photos, and other documents from this time. These sources vividly portray the people, places, and events which he encountered. They also portray the hopes, fears, and passions which he and others struggled with as they played their parts in the largest conflict in human history. As Arnie became immersed in wartime material, a narrative began to emerge, and he put his father's letters into a presentation designed to entertain, to educate, and to enlighten. Arnie is now an historical World War II storyteller, chronicling Tony's experience of the European in this unique and moving presentation. Enjoy the life and times of the “bad boy” actor of the early 20th century, John Barrymore in this live stage production of his life on Thursday, June 4th at 6:30. Have a rollicking good time as Richard Clark takes us down memory lane to the era of the roaring 20’s and 30’s. Join the audience at a rehearsal of Barrymore's greatest performance as Shakespeare’s “Richard III.” His trusty prompter tries to keep him on the straight-and-narrow and pick up the pieces as he stumbles through this boozy undertaking. This play is a charming concoction of comedy and pathos as Barrymore struts what’s left of his “stuff”. Family history, theatre lore, and the rigors of marriage and Hollywood are mixed in a portrait of a great artist who has lost his way. Registration begins May 15th.
