We have partnered with Litchfield County Pediatrics to kick-off this new initiative!
All parents of newborns will receive a packet of information about getting their child's first library card! In the packet is a coupon to exchange for the child's first library card upon visiting the library. Parents will also receive a free board book and other goodies when they visit the library!
If your pediatric practice would like to participate, please contact Jessica Gueniat, Library Director.
The Children's Room team often goes out into the community to host:
Every year we visit each first grade classroom in the Torrington School district. We read the children a story, present them with the book to keep in their classrooms, and send home a packet of informing with a library card registration form.
Later in the week, students visit the library for a tour and return their library card application forms. Once the cards are processed, we mail the children their cards!
To date, we have issued close to 1,000 library cards to students.
The library team attends many open houses and events to educate the public about the benefit of using your library. If you would like us to attend a special event, please contact Jessica Gueniat.
If you would like a private or group tour of your NEW Torrington Library, please complete the form below.
