First Ladies: An Adventure in Glamour, Guts, and Gumption
Thursday, March 14th at 6:30
Registration begins March 1st
Join Mariann Millard as she talks about the personalities and adventures of the women who became the First Ladies of the United States. Who were they really? What made them tick? Did they love or loathe their role? Did they sink or swim navigating the complexities of politics, protocol and publicity, whether they did so willingly or not? This is a lively, humorous, and engaging hour that weaves historical and modern events and facts about First Ladies to understand and appreciate the important role they play, starting with Martha Washington. Personal anecdotes by Mariann, a Licensed DC Guide, will be judiciously used to enhance the First Lady experience.
Attendance at juvenile programs is limited to children of the age group for which the program is intended and their caregivers.
