Keeping chickens has increased in popularity for a variety of reasons and hits all age groups. The top reasons being easy pets to care for and egg production- more specifically knowing where your food is coming from and living a more sustainable lifestyle. Chickens are super fun to watch and can be a valuable resource to homesteads of all sizes.
During this program, Amanda Morris, will discuss different management styles for keeping chickens, chickens and kids, identify common garden items(veggie, herb, and flower) that chickens can and can’t have, how to properly feed chickens to ensure a balanced diet for quality egg production, and ways chickens can work in your garden with you.
Attendance at juvenile programs is limited to children of the age group for which the program is intended and their caregivers.
