 Join watercolor artist Nancy Roman as she offers this creative workshop for adults, teens, and children over twelve. Participants must bring a 5"x7" photo of their pet, and Nancy will help you paint a watercolor portrait based on the photo. All skill levels welcome. Nancy provides all materials. Registration is for 12 and older and is limited to 15 people.

Registration beings September 15th Alfred Hitchcock is probably the most famous film director who ever lived. For five decades, first in England, then in Hollywood, he made fifty-four films, including classics such as The Thirty Nine Steps, Rebecca, Notorious, Rear Window, North by Northwest, Vertigo, and Psycho. Few filmmakers have been as popular, critically celebrated, and as influential, not only as a director but also as a multi-media showman through his tv series, magazines, book anthologies, even extending to board games and record albums. This presentation looks at his achievements as “the master of suspense,” and through dozens of film clips, examines his extraordinary creativity as one of the 20th century’s greatest filmmakers. Presented by Brian Rose, who brought you The Golden Age of Hollywood and The Golden Age of TV this past winter!  Thursday, August 17th at 6pm Registration begins August 1st Cucaburr shall be giving an exegesis on a portion of the text of the Wake specifically from Book II, chapter II known as the study hour which ironically takes place at night in the main character HCE's inn. The twins Shem and Sean and their sister Issy are the pupils. It basically enlarges the little student tasks into representations of the great scholar tasks that have occupied man from the beginning. I am a Pop artist & author specializing in making collages out of cardboard consumer brand packages such as cereal boxes. It is an art form that is accessible to any one who is able to use scissors & glue (or work with someone who can assist). I have developed a traveling art program clued the "Modern Pop Art Experience" for all ages (school age & up) that I've been bringing to schools, libraries & museums all over the USA for 2 decades. It is a 2 hour program which is a/combination of artist visit, short presentation, hands-on workshop & free poster giveaway/ signing.

Wednesday, August 2nd at 6:30 Registration begins July 1st A lifelong cellist, Ryan Mitten has a unique perspective and style. He plays what you might expect to hear played on a cello (think: Bach and Mozart), but encourages his audience to think bigger. He transports listeners to Hogwarts with the Harry Potter soundtrack then sends them to a galaxy far, far away with recognizable Star Wars repertoire. No two performances are alike as Ryan takes great care in catering to his audience. Music lovers of any age will appreciate his versatility, and do take advantage of his routine offer after for “any requests” (and improvisational skills on the cello). He conjures almost any kind of folk music (bluegrass, Irish, country, the list goes on) and ties it all together with early 20th century sing-along ditties.  |
