Apply at the Library!

We are now accepting online library card applications and renewals. Once your application is received, we will mail you a library card. Please fill out this form for renewals, too.

All cards processed will have a three year expiration date. In order to check out physical materials from the library or from a neighboring library, you must visit the library in person and present a photo ID with your Torrington address. If your current photo ID does not have your Torrington address, you may present a current piece of mail, such as a utility bill.

If you are unsure whether or not you currently have a library card, please fill out the form below and we will cross check our records and respond to you accordingly.

To access our online resources, you must enter your library barcode number. Your PIN is the last four digits of your card number.

You can apply for a library card in person when you visit the Library. Please bring a valid photo ID with your current Torrington address. If you do not have a valid ID with you Torrington address, you can present a current piece of mail, such as a utility bill, with your current Torrington address and your ID.

Out of town residents must bring their hometown library card and proof of ID.

The Children's Room closes 15 minutes before the rest of the library.
