Congratulations! You’ve completed the last clue!
The killer of Mrs. Booker was none other than the Mouse from the classic kids story, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Clumsy little Mouse was merely trying to find the perfect cookie recipe and accidently bumped a very thick cookbook off of the highest shelf. He scuttled away in fear, not even knowing the book landed on poor Mrs. Booker's head. Mrs. Booker is a kindly ghost and has forgiven the careless mouse. She even helped him find a delicious, heavenly cookie recipe. She also finally found her prefect pumpkin spice cake recipe. Click here to print the pumpkin spice cake recipe or the cookie recipe. These desserts are to DIE for! What is the story of “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”? A boy gives a cookie to a mouse. The mouse asks for a glass of milk. He then requests a straw (to drink the milk), a mirror (to avoid a milk mustache), nail scissors (to trim his hair in the mirror), and a broom (to sweep up his hair trimmings). Next he wants to take a nap, have a story read to him, draw a picture, and hang the drawing on the refrigerator. Looking at the refrigerator makes him thirsty, so the mouse asks for a glass of milk. The circle is complete when he wants a cookie to go with it. This mystery event was designed specially for your by staff of the Torrington Library. We hope you enjoyed it!
