Registration begins April 15th This program focuses on the reality of paranormal investigating. Some key points will be discussed throughout the night, including: the process of investigating paranormal claims and how it should be done, the importance of professionalism and education in the field, and evidence review. Presented by the Eastern Connecticut Paranormal Society Tuesday, May 18th at 6:30 Registration begins April 15th The Member of Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project will show step by step to make a lovely lotus flower lantern using colored paper and wire frames. Korean Spirit and Culture Project (KSCPP) is a not-for-profit organization that was formed in September 2005 to promote Korean history and culture to the wider world. KSCPP is designed to introduce Korea’s long and rich artistic history, the spirit of its people, and its cultural values. Supplies will be available to pick up at the library beginning May 3rd. Keeping Travel Cheap! Thursday, April 29th at 6:30 Registration begins April 1st Matt Cadorette has visited over 25 countries on 6 continents. In this program he will share strategies he has learned and resources he trusts for creating a positive travel experience. This program is geared towards new travelers and the experienced traveler looking to save money. CELEBRATE ALL WEEK WITH US Amnesty Week April 4-10!

Travel From Your Couch with Reptiles Thursday, April 1st at 6:30 Registration begins March 15th Join Christine’s Critters and the Torrington Library as we Travel From Your Couch to meet some amazing reptiles and amphibians from around the world! All of our reptiles are rescued from the pet trade and serve as educational ambassadors for us to teach about these incredible and often misunderstood animals. From Australia to South America, deserts to jungles, each of these animals play a vital role in their native ecosystems. Join us for a fun “travel” adventure! Christine’s Critters is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that rescues and rehabilitates birds of prey and reptiles. We house 24 permanently injured raptors and 30 reptiles that serve as our educational ambassadors for our programs. We admit over 250 injured birds of prey for care each year. Connecticut Lore with Zach Lamothe Thursday, April 15th at 6:30 Registration begins April 1st Zachary Lamothe's book "Connecticut Lore: Strange, Off Kilter and Full of Surprises" takes the reader down the back roads of the Constitution State. The book is somewhere between a travel guide and a collection of ghost stories. This book was followed up by the sequel "More Connecticut Lore" in 2016. |
