On July 18, 1969, Ted Kennedy took a wrong turn, both literally and figuratively. When his Oldsmobile went into the water on Chappaquiddick Island on that fateful night, there were two people inside, he and Mary Jo Kopechne. Ted alone emerged from the murky waters alive. It remains a mystery as to why he left her there and walked past several houses on his way back to the house party they had left earlier. Ted Kennedy lost any hope of ever becoming president of the United States because of that wrong turn but that pales in comparison to what the Kopechne family lost. Thursday, August 2nd from 6:30-7:30 @ our Summer Social Event Surviving high school is full of emotional twists and turns, isn’t it? After his parents divorced, Eric Hudson vowed that he’d never let himself fall in love. Love will only lead to a broken heart. So it’s fortunate that Eric is just as good at protecting his heart as he is the goal on the soccer field. Julie Williams faces her problems with the same force that makes her the star forward on the soccer team. But with such a sharp focus on the goal, she is sometimes oblivious to what’s right in front of her. Junior year brings on the greatest challenge of high school so far, and it has nothing to do with the state championship. As one begins to fall for their teammate and the other becomes smitten with the new student, Eric and Julie soon find themselves trapped on an emotional roller-coaster that neither of them wanted to be on. And it might require more than their soccer skills to survive the ride. They might need each other. About Tabitha: Tabitha G. Kelly has been writing since the age of 13 and has never stopped. She currently works as a librarian and is known to her friends and family as Tabby. She would like to stress that although she is a cat-mom, she is definitely not a cat. Visit Tabitha on her website www.tabbyisnotacat.com and on her Twitter and Instagram accounts - @tabbyisnotacat . Standing By will be available to purchase that evening for $10.00 and Tabby will sign a copy.
