Held in the Community Room
Kick off summer with a fun-filled family board game night! Bring your own favorite game to play or choose from one of ours! We'll have the classics, like Clue, Checkers, Trouble, Jenga and more! We encourage you to bring snacks and make a night of it! All children must be accompanied by an adult.  People of all ages are welcome!
 
Registration is not suggested, but not required.

We’ll transform the Community Room into a comedy club and even offer a few yummy treats while you are entertained.  This event is guaranteed to entertain, entrance, and even mystify! Victorian Tea Etiquette Workshop

Held in the Program Room

Are you a Downton Abbey fan? Do you enjoy a good cuppa (cup of) tea? Do you love learning about local history? The docents of the Osborne Homestead Museum of Derby, CT teach participants the dos and donts of Victorian tea etiquette and the types of tea services. Their presentation also includes the history of the Osborne family as seen through the lens of the award-winning television series Downton Abbey. Participants learn about the history of tea and taste a variety teas from Harney & Sons. Refreshments and teas are served. This program is altered for a younger age group. 

Please bring your favorite tea cup or coffee mug in order to sample some yummy teas.

A Supernatural Evening!

Join us on August 4th at 6:30 for A Supernatural Evening with Jeff Belanger.

For over 15 years Jeff Belanger has been exploring the unexplained. He seeks out ghosts, monsters, and legends all over the world and in your backyard. His talk presents highlights from his own adventures, a look at the investigation process, and compelling audio and visual paranormal evidence. Not just ghost stories, Belanger will delve into the reasons behind the phenomena. Jeff Belanger is the leading lecturer on legends and paranormal phenomena. Jeff brings a suitcase full of evidence, a multimedia presentation, over 18 years of experience, and a lot of personality to the subject of the unexplained making it both entertaining and accessible to a wide audience. In addition to being the author of more than a dozen books published in six languages, Jeff has been on countless radio and television programs discussing the topic. He's lectured at many conferences, libraries, colleges, universities, and other functions around the world. In 2014, he gave his first TEDx talk in New York City, he spoke at MENSA's national conference, and he's an Emmy-nominated television host and producer. Registration begins July 15th.

Nature as Healer Event!

This presentation by Marlow Shami starts with a short talk, illustrated with beautiful compelling images, followed by a powerful guided meditation, and one simple outdoor activity. Nature As Healer is designed to provide information, insight, and tools to help each of us deal with the challenges and rewards of connecting with nature, anywhere! -- no matter how rushed, messy, or stressful your life is!

Join psychic medium, Debbie Gutierrez, on Thursday, February 25th at 6:30 as she explains how she connects to the spirit world. Leah provides all materials and Jessica at the library will bring Christmas cookies! This is the perfect night to get into the holiday spirit, relax from all the stressful shopping, and make personal cards for your loved ones!
